God blesses us with good gifts in His perfect time. In 1997 when I was 40 years old, I married my sweet wife Karen. We have been married 21 years.
My passion since I was 17 has been to share Christ with others and encourage them to walk with Him. Godly men taught me how to walk with God by investing time in me and constantly encouraging me. I have sought to do the same as I minister to others. I have been involved in ministry to teens, incarcerated teens, young adults and adults.
There will inevitably be difficult seasons of life. My dad died in a gun accident when I was 22. In 2009 Karen faced surgery and chemo as she dealt with cancer. In 2016 my mom passed away after six weeks of hospitalization. In Isaiah 41:10 God says “Fear not for I am with you. Be not dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you. I will help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.” During the difficult times I have faced, I have felt God’s presence and peace with me every step of the way. I have found I could truly fear not because God was with me to strengthen me, help me and uphold me.
As Care Chaplain, I am wholeheartedly committed to being there for our people in their difficult times. I will pray for them, listen to them, and help them in any way I can. As others share their burdens, my prayer is they might know that the “God of all comfort” is with them every step of the way. God will always be faithful to fulfill His promise to be “our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46:1)
